After picking up wins in two of their first three games of the season, the Wildcats hit a tough part of their schedule and dropped four straight with unearned runs and lack of timely hitting being the key factors.

Wildcats Baseball Meet the Team and Recreational sign-ups Print E-mail

Say goodbye to winter and hello to spring as the Pendleton County High School Wildcat baseball team kicks off their 2014 season on Saturday, March 8.

All boys kindergarten through 7th grade are invited to come to PCHS from 2:30-3:30 p.m for recreational baseball registration and a free baseball clinic hosted by the Wildcats. The Wildcat coaching staff along with players will work with recreation baseball players on baseball fundamentals.

Kids and their parents are welcome to stick around for a 4 p.m. Red/Black scrimmage, weather permitting and introductions of the 2014 Wildcat baseball team.

Come hungry and visit the concession stand, considered Northern Kentucky’s BEST high school baseball concession stand by visiting teams.  A raffle for a White Sox’ Nate Jones jersey and discounted Reds baseball tickets through the Kid Glove program will also be available.

Recreational baseball forms will be distributed at each elementary school, are available at www.pendletoncounty.ky.gov website and click on Recreation/Sports, can be picked up at the Pendleton Recreation Office at Griffin Fitness Center at PCHS from 5-9 p.m. or available on Saturday, March 8 at the Wildcat Baseball Clinic.

Errors doom Cats Region Tournament hopes Print E-mail

Senior Tyler Daugherty took the mound in the 38th District Baseball Tournament.  He pitched all 7 innings allowing only a single earned run.

Pick any of the last three seasons and the script of the first round 38th District Baseball Tournament game is the same.

Pendleton County versus Nicholas County with Blue Jacket left hander JD Waggoner on the mound, rain delaying the game, Cats committing errors leading to crucial Jackets’ runs that give the 10th Region Tournament berth to Nicholas County.

“It was disappointing for the team because we set high goals for ourselves and came up short.”  coach Aaron Biddle said about the first round loss.
